WebbHadoop Archives (HAR files) deals with the problem of lots of small files. Hadoop Archives works by building a layered filesystem on the top of HDFS. With the help Hadoop archive command, HAR files are created; this runs a MapReduce job to pack the files being archived into a small number of HDFS files.
