WebOvule may have three integuments as in Asphodelus – tritegmic. In Santalum there are no integuments, such an ovule is called ategmic ovule. Most of the ovule is filled with parenchymatous diploid tissue called nucellus. Nucellus encloses the embryo sac, and provides nourishment to the developing embryo. Opening of ovule is called micropyle.
